Supreme 2008 Fall/Winter Lookbook
Yo! some people may not agree but I personally think Supreme is dope. I like how they just make simple clean garments hot. Small details make all the difference.
Dead Prez- Hip Hop
I remember I was banging this album on my way to the Bronx from Columbus, OH. We where 9 deep in two cars and all we played the entire way there was Big L and Dead Prez. Stic Man and M1 come with politically conscious lyrics that force you to play your position in the struggle. Dead Prez lyrics seem to heavily focus on revolution, institutional racism, critical pedagogy, police, capitalism, education, prison systems, religion, activism against governmental repression, and corporate control over the media. We need more like em.
Mad Skillz - The Nod Factor
Mad Skillz is an artist from back in the day when saying something worth a damn counted for something. He along with Danja Mowf, Lonnie B, and Kalonji, make up Supafriendz. He was born in Detroit yet hales from Richmond, VA and right now he's probably most well known for his year end wrap up that he drops every December.

Micro R/C 4-Channel Flying Saucer
I guess im a little bit like Kanye because I always wanted a spaceship. Looks like I don't have to wait any longer. The Micro R/C 4-Channel Flying Saucer is ill. It's a remote control unidentified flying object, whats better than that. The average person would assume that a Micro Flying Saucer would be hard to keep balanced in the air, but this problem is solved by the built in solid-state accelerometer. The accelerometer can sense tilting on the two axes and will adjust the power of each propeller to keep the Flying Saucer rock solid in the sky. Yo! thats dope.

Ice Cube-True to the Game
Ice Cube was born in South Central Los Angeles, California as O'shea Jackson. He started to become interested in hip hop around the age of 16.Thats when he would write rhymes in his high school keyboarding class. In 1987 cube studied Architectural Drafting at the Phoenix Institute of Technology with his friend Sir Jinx. During his stint in drafting school Cube and Jinx formed a rap group called the C.I.A. and performed at parties hosted by Dr. Dre. in 1987 Cube dropped "My Posse" under an alias of "CIA and the county police. A short time after "My Posse" dropped, Cube showed the lyrics to "Boyz-N-The-Hood" to Eazy-E. Eazy rejected the song at first because he was not yet a rapper. F.Y.I. Dr. Dre punched every bar on Boyz-N-The-Hood because Eazy didn't know how to put lines together yet.
Ice Cube-Today Was A Good Day
This was just a all around feel good joint. No matter where you where from, everybody was from Cali when this came on. This song was a different approach for Cube. Usually Cube goes in hard on the gangster s@#t.
Ice Cube-Check Yo Self
This is the video that had everybody screaming "Phone check homey". This during Ice Cubes transitional period, but this joint was still dope.

KMD - Peach Fuzz
(Kausing Much Damage) or KMD was a group of the 90's that didn't have a huge list of hits ,but the ones that they did have are now hip hop classics. KMD consisted of Zev Love X, his younger brother DJ Subroc and Rodan. Rodan eventually left the group to finish high school and was replaced by The Rapper Onyx. Zev Love and DJ Subroc later began production of the album Black Bastards which was shelved because the cover art was to controversial. During the production of Black Bastards Subroc was tragically killed when he was struck by a car. After the death of his younger brother the man we know as Zev Love disappeared from the hip hop scene.
Oh yeah! Zev Love X currently goes by the name of MF DOOM.

Slick Rick-Hey Young World
All hail Rick the Ruler. Slick Rick is undoubtedly one of the greatest story telling lyricist hands down. Ricky Walters was born January 14, 1965 in South Wimbledon, London, England. He moved to the Bronx in 75' where he met Dana Dane and they joined forces to create the Kangol Crew. One of the most commonly unknown things about Slick Rick is "What the hell happened to his Damned eye?". Well just to put your curiosity to rest, Rick was blinded in his right eye as an infant by broken glass (sounds painful). I remember my cousin Antuane aka Rick used to play this album at grandma B's house non stop.

Produx-Black Love
Who said the south couldn't breed real hip hop. Green-Tea Muzik is a Hotlanta based group that consist of Khalid Salaam, Pikhaso, and Rick. GTM brings soul and a love of lyrics back to your ear. This joint was the first single off of the Black Faces album and a banger at that. Hip hop flows through GTM vein and trust me I know because Rick is my big cuz, and he's been concerned with sustenance forever. GTM is preparing to drop their next album Carrot Cake, so be on the look out for that.
